AUP’s

According to Wikipedia, AUP’s (Acceptable Use Policies) are a set of rules that are applied to a network or website by the network owner. In the case of our high school AUP (known as the Digital Citizenship Agreement), it could be described as a “very wordy set of rules…”. One page of explanation followed by 30 points detailing the expectations, followed (finally) by the page that must be signed and submitted.

Reminds me of a favorite cartoon.

In an attempt to clean up this mess of verbosity, Michael Fox, Nyoli Connor and myself worked on simplifying the high school AUP, while still maintaining the legal covering that is (unfortunately) a constant and increasing focus at school.

Enjoy!
