For the last few months I have been hearing about smart phones and all the wonderful things they can do. Before this I wasn’t interested in the $800 phones. I can hardly write that….$800 phone! Who would ever want to spend that much money on a phone? It seems so preposterous. However, I am been pulled to the dark side. I am now actually planning to buy my wife an I-Phone for Christmas. The problem is I can’t find one. For the past month I have been trying to no avail. They are sold out everywhere. Last week, I was phoning cel phone stores all over the place and after about 5 stores finally found one that had a I-Phone. I told them to hold it for me for two hours until I could get down there to buy it. When I did get there an hour and a half later it was sold! So on to plan B; an Android phone. After an equally difficult time trying to locate the latest model of an android it turns out all they are sold out too. Three months waiting time for an I-phone and one month for an Android. I know this is Christmas, but we are in Taiwan; only 4% of the people are Christian. Everyone wants a smart phone! With only 11 days left until Christmas, things are not looking good for me and if I don’t find a good present soon, I will be sleeping on the couch until Chinese New Year!
