ASCA Standards:
Standard 1: Students will acquire the attitudes, knowledge and skills that contribute to effective learning in school and across the life span.
Standard 7: Students will acquire the attitudes, knowledge and interpersonal skills to help them understand and respect self and others.

Stage 2 – Assessment Evidence
GRASPS TaskSix Facets of Understanding
Goal: Students will create PSA videos in partnership with another International school.

Role: In teams, students will brainstorm, storyboard, script, film, edit and produce a PSA related to a common middle school student issue.

Audience: Other middle school students, parents, Internet community.

Situation: Students at two International schools will work in teams, sharing data back and forth, to create PSAs to be posted on the Internet and shared with other MS around the world.

Product Performance: Successful creation of collaborative PSAs.

Extension:
(Explain, Apply, Interpret, Perspective, Self-Knowledge, Empathize)

Students will explain the necessary components of collaborating on a large scale, internationally, through digital media.
Students will apply the skills they have learned about collaboration and communication from previous lessons.
Students will interpret the project and understand the relation to future mass collaborations.
Students will gain perspective on the issues surrounding MS students and the skills necessary to successfully collaborate.
Students will use self-knowledge to understand their own personality traits that help/hinder collaboration.
Students will empathize with peers, understanding the unique individual characteristics that are a part of mass collaboration.
