| Goal: Students will comment on VoiceThread pictures, brainstorming possible scenarios and explaing communication strategies for effective problem solving. Role: Students actively comment and respond to the comments of other students on the VoiceThread and embed it on their blog to show learning. Audience: The audience is other 6th grade students at ISB and the wider audience of their blogs. Situation: Students will look at preselected pictures of individuals in problem scenarios and comment on what they perceive the situation to be and what others might perceive the situation to be and identify communication strategies for effective problem solving. Product Performance: Students in the different humanities blocks will comment on a VoiceThread and listen to each others comments as they reflect on each other's comments. Extension: Students can write reflection blog posts about what they learned and how they will change their communication habits with friends and other students and people in general based on their understanding of perception and the role it plays. | (Explain, Apply, Interpret, Perspective, Self-Knowledge, Empathize) Explain how personal perception plays a role in communicaiton and problem solving scenarios. Apply the ideas learned in problem solving situations Interpret the personal perceptions of others in problem solving situations. Understand individual perspectives and how this can complicate problem situations. Use self-knowledge to reflect on their use of communication and their own personal perceptions of situations. Students learn to empathize with others when solving problems. |
