| The power of a link: As I've been reading, and continue to read blog posts I'm finding that many of you talk about Chris or Clarence in your posts. Some of you are already talking about what others in the class have posted and remixing it into your own thoughts....which is exactly what we want you to do. Now, if we were writing on paper we would expect you to have a reference page listing all the people, articles, etc that you read to come up with your ideas for your post....but in a connected world....we rely on the power of a link. You see a hyperlink is how we give people credit. So when I mention Kim I create a hyperlink back to her blog...or to a specific blog post so that if you want, you can follow that hyperlink to see exactly what she said. Here is how you create a hyperlink in blogger: 1. Highlight the word(s) you want to use as a link 2. Click on the picture of a Globe with a chain link (standard link icon) 3. Copy and paste the web address into the URL field (Make sure to start with http://) 4. Click OK and you have just created a hyperlink. There is no such thing as too many links....just like there is no such thing as too many references on a paper. Labels The picture above also shows a Labels field. What Blogger calls Labels the rest of the world calls Tags. You might have heard of tags or labels before. Basically these are words that describe what your post is about and help you to group posts together around these common themes. Here is an image of my tag cloud from my blog: Try using labels in your posts....in the end it's just another way to organize your thinking for both you and your readers. | ||

I thought I looked at the wiki earlier in the week to find my assignment and I didn't see the two articles and blogg assignment. Could we agree that assignments will be posted by a certain day? Thanks!
